Since 1987, the Health and Safety Training Center at The University of Texas at Austin has served as the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) State Grants recipient for Texas, providing comprehensive safety and health compliance training to the state’s mining industry.
As a grant‑funded program, the Health and Safety Training Center delivers both on‑site and virtual training, including New Miner, Annual Refresher, and Instructor Training courses. Additional services include First Aid/CPR/AED certification, mine safety compliance assistance visits, training plan review and development, and professional speaking engagements for companies and industry conferences.
